warning! spoilers ahead isabella is the sweet and caring mother figure of the Paradise Kiss brand. Always giving them good advice (and delicious food!), patient and hard-working, she's a pillar of stability within the atelier. She likes to dress in a very complex and detailed fashion and with elaborated hairstyles and make-up, most of the time resembling that of european XVIII and XIX century, although we also see her in old japanese kimonos. And believe it or not, she manages to look elegant all the time ^^ isabella's got a little secret: her body's not actually that of a woman, but of a man. She absolutely hates being called by her real name (Daisuke Yamamoto), and thus respecting her wishes, all her friends refer to her as a female. She knew since she was a little child that her heart was the heart of a girl and not of a boy, but it wasn't until George made her a present that she realized there was nothing wrong in this: when little George appeared in her mansion and gave her a magnificient dress made all by himself, Isabella's strenght and determination quickly grew in her heart, and when she felt that pretty dresses gave people those feelings she decided to devote her life to fashion. We see very little of isabella in a romantic sense, but it's pretty clear to most of the readers she felt something more than friendship for George. In the end, she stays with him in order to help him when he leaves Japan to pursue a succesful career, referring to herself as a "woman who's giving up everything for love". From that point onwards, it's all speculation ;P |
