about: anime
As any succesful manga, Tsubasa ~RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE~ also has
its anime adaptation, called simply Tsubasa Chronicle. The
animation studio involved was Bee Train (everything .hack//
and Noir, among many others) and it was produced and broadcasted
by NHK, where it aired every Saturday at 18:30 (only in Japan,
obviously). It has been confirmed that the anime will have a second
season, and rumoured that it will have another one.
The first season has already finished. The 26th and final episode,
titled "saigo no negai" ("Last Wish")
was aired on October 15, 2005. Now, that first season is being re-broadcasted,
and the second will come after it on April 2006.
Concerning its DVD release, three of them are already available,
and the fourth one starts being sold on November 25, 2005. Each
one contains four episodes, except the first one which only includes
two, plus textless opening and ending sequences as an extra. The
first press limited release of DVD 1 also comes with a box, illustrated
by CLAMP, to house all 7 volumes.
The anime has not been licensed outside Japan yet, so the only
options to see it are either living in Japan, buying the japanese
DVDs or... fansubs ^^;; Resources to both buy and download can be
found in the Extra section.
