about: movie

Even though this fanlisting doesn't cover the movie, I feel I need to talk about it too for this section to be complete ^^;;

So yes, there is also a movie called "torikago no kuni no himegumi" (The Princess of the Birdcage Land). It was shown in japanese theaters on August 20, 2005, along with the xxxHOLiC movie, "manatsu no yoru no yume" (A Midsummer Night's Dream). A Japanese DVD release date has not been confirmed yet, and it has not been licensed outside Japan, so unfortunately the only way to see both of them would be... going to Japan >_<

The two movies were shown as one, in what they called a "collaboration movie". The xxxHOLiC movie was one hour long, and the Tsubasa one half an hour. Both stories are linked in a certain point and that's why they decided to show them together in this original idea. The plot, which I should briefly summarize right now, is completely original (meaning it doesn't appear in the manga).

Our group arrives at a new world, where every person has a bird at their side as an inseparable companion. But this place is the hands of a despotic ruler, which threatens to separate every citizen from their birds if they're not completely and absolutely loyal to him. The group members land in different places when they arrive, and Sakura, Syaoran and Mokona meet a misterious princess called Tomoyo, whom the tyrant has stolen both her bird and her voice. Others, such as a boy named Koruri and other people, have suffered the same destiny and decided to hide in a forest. They told Syaoran that the king posseses a strange and enormous power... so our friends set up to free the country from that mischievous king and see if that power could be another one of Sakura's feathers.
